Summer outing 2024

Well, yes  - the weather wasn't great:  overcast, blowy.

But you can't dampen the spirits of a group of writers on a day out.

St Albans Cathedral, lunch in the Abbotts kitchen (he must have been out that day), and then a short drive to Verulameum.

The guided tour of th cathedral was conducted by an exceptionnally  knowledgeable guide, and brought to life in particuar by a clever lighting show that demonstrated what 'lost' medaeval wall paintings must have looked like.

An old, much-used and very unusual building, as well as a long-standing spiritual centre.
