Summer outing 2024
Well, yes - the weather wasn't great: overcast, blowy.
But you can't dampen the spirits of a group of writers on a day out.
St Albans Cathedral, lunch in the Abbotts kitchen (he must have been out that day), and then a short drive to Verulameum.
The guided tour of th cathedral was conducted by an exceptionnally knowledgeable guide, and brought to life in particuar by a clever lighting show that demonstrated what 'lost' medaeval wall paintings must have looked like.
An old, much-used and very unusual building, as well as a long-standing spiritual centre.
